I've had my Panga 14 for couple of weeks now. After taking it out few times and catching some fish, I am now ready to invest in a push poll. Does anyone else use one for this boat?
If so, what length poll do you use? And how do you have the poll mounted on the boat.
I plan to do some traveling with this boat. How do you secure the pole against theft?

I built a push pose out of pvc. I made it in 4 5ft. sections with screw-able ends. That way i make it as long as i need. I will post some pictures later.

I have a homeade pvc push pole.(one piece) It wouldn't cause me too much stress if anyone stole it. I have a friend that had $1000 carbon fiber version. Had is the operative word. You might see if you can get one equiped with a Lo-Jack. Theft isn't the only concern, if you don't stow them correctly they can come out of your boat while traveling down the road. That happens more often than you would think.
Good Luck! Walt

cdI have a 14' Panga. I have a 12ft push pole that fits between under the front deck and runs along the gunwale and to the transom. It lays on top of the seats. I have a fiberglass pole that came off of an old fire truck. Home Depot has wooden rods for a fairly cheap. Why spend a lot of money on a push pole that could break, fly off the boat during trailering, or be stolen? To each their own. I pole from the bow. I have not had my Panga long either, but I really like the boat.
